Jarosław Melnarowicz joined the Supreme Audit Office of Poland as an economic advisor in 2020. Also in 2020, he assumed the position of acting Director of the Corporate Services Department. In 2021, he completed NIK’s initial training for auditors.
In the course of his work at NIK, Jarosław Melnarowicz proved to be a dynamic and competent manager. He effectively used his long-term experience in the fields of management, strategy, digitisation and organisation as the Director of the Corporate Services Department where he managed and supervised work of several units. He was also responsible for the human resources policy, organisational support of NIK President, Vice-Presidents, the Director General and directors of all organisational units of NIK. From the very beginning of implementing NIK’s strategy for 2021-2024, he has been involved in various projects and initiatives aimed at boosting the efficiency of auditors. On a daily basis, for several years now, he has supported the President’s efforts in the fight for independence of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland. He has also actively participated in the management works to change salaries of NIK auditors.
Jarosław Melnarowicz is a graduate of the Wrocław University of Economics and Business in the field of corporate finances and finances of local government institutions. At the Collegium of Management and Finance of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) he completed post-graduate studies in the field of project management. Then Jarosław Melnarowicz completed doctoral studies at the Collegium of Management and Finance of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and in 2012 he was awarded the academic degree – Doctor of Economics.
As of 5 December 2023, upon consent of the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, President of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland Marian Banaś appointed Jarosław Melnarowicz, PhD to the position of Director General.
