Next week the Supreme Audit Institution of Israel will take over the chairmanship of EUROSAI (European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions). Now the Israeli SAI is a Member of the EUROSAI Governing Board, like the Supreme Audit Office of Poland.
Both institutions – NIK and the SAI of Israel – have worked on a new strategic plan of EUROSAI, the implementation of which will start next year. It will focus on tightening cooperation inspired by diverse areas. The point is to exchange experiences, especially in terms of digitalisation of the public administration and provision of digital security to citizens. They also addressed an important issue of the AI development and increased involvement of SAIs in parallel audits. Working out common solutions based on the exchange of knowledge and experiences as well as the existing good practices are of key significance for the cooperation.
During the meeting the Heads of both SAIs emphasised the role of independence of Supreme Audit Institutions as a pillar essential for reliable state audit.
